Given the benefits that honeybees provide for us, we need to appreciate them by protecting them. Since 2006, U.S. beekeepers have experienced the loss of roughly 40-90% of their bee population. This has been linked to the abuse of harmful pesticides that wipe out entire bee colonies, as well as other pollinators. This project aims to educate children about the importance of bees & how we can save them.
The product of this project will be split into 3 parts:

The product of this project will be split into 3 parts:
- A model of a man-made beehive (Langstroth model) to present to elementary students,
- An event on Earth Day to plant sunflower seeds, while raising awareness of the crisis & encouraging middle & high school students to plant pollinator-friendly flowers, and
- A presentation on elementary school students' Planting Day on the importance of bees and their protection, followed by a planting session.
